1. Lists of odd numbers sound more legit.
    2. Writing is 80% research, 20% fancy words.
    3. Answer questions people don't know they're asking.
    4. There is no great creative without outstanding strategy.
    5. Most people think they can write — presumably because most people can read. If you're not trained in writing, best to stick with reading.
    6. Learn something new about writing every day. In a year, you'll master 365 things that most people haven't even considered since high school.
    7. If you can't defend a creative choice, it's not a choice. Trash it.
    8. "Kill your darlings" is euphemism. Get comfortable with a daily bloodbath.
